Atomic energy and solar energy can relieve the world energy crisis. Billions of the world’s population are hoping for a higher
standard of living. Yet our lifestyle requires a great deal of energy, while generation of energy from coal and oil emits billions of tonnes of heavy metals and CO2 into the atmosphere.
Thorium as a source of energy. Atomic and solar energy can supply our needs without damaging the environment. The Nobel prize-winner Carlo Rubbia has shown how safe thorium reactors can be built.
Deposits of thorium at Fen, near Ulefoss in Telemark are probably the largest in the world.
Solar energy (Indium, gallium, selenium and copper) Norway and Japan are collaborating to
map out indium resources, with the participation of the University of Oslo. As far as indium in Norway is concerned, the most interesting areas are Sauda and Listaulli. Thoriumpower Holding has
contributed samples for analysis from these deposits. The minerals petrukite and roquesite serve as indicators that there are high levels of indium in the Sauda mines and at Listaulli.
